Kurt Johnson has been on site for every Great Oaks build for forty-some years. Becky runs the office. When you called, one of them picked up — unless they were out at a build, which is most of the day. That was the whole problem.

Great Oaks had earned its reputation the slow way, and its old website wasn't carrying any of it. So when Kurt and Becky signed on with IHC in August, the job wasn't "make a website." It was: show people what forty years of work looks like, and stop losing the calls that come in while the crew is pouring a slab.

What we built

The site. citrushomebuilders.com went live on September 30, same domain, nothing lost in search. It's laid out like a set of construction drawings — cover sheet, general notes, sheet numbers — because that's what a builder actually hands you. Custom homes, waterfront, remodeling, commercial and metal, a real portfolio, and a Family page with the whole crew on it.

The partners. Kurt is big on the people he builds with, so the site gives them real estate: Deem Kitchens & Baths, Rock Solid Creations, Suncoast Plumbing, Don Poss Roofing and a dozen more, each with their own logo. Nobody builds a home alone, and the site says so.

The films. Four short narrated pieces — one on the partners, one on the areas they build in, one on how a home goes from drawing to finished, and one on the forty years. The first three went up on YouTube, Facebook and TikTok the day the site launched. Photography on the site is by Kaylee Brooke Photography, who already shoots their homes.

The phone. This is the part Becky notices every day. The office line now rolls to an AI answering agent named Laurel. She picks up when nobody can, takes down who's calling and what they need, and drops it onto a leads board Kurt and Becky can open on a phone. No voicemail, no "we'll call you back" that never happens. A real person still calls back — they just don't lose the lead in the meantime.

What's next

Great Oaks is an ongoing partnership now: shoot days across their active builds, short films and posts every month, Google reviews and AI-search visibility handled, and the office IT looked after. The next film is a long-form piece on Sweet Citrus Acres, the RV resort they're building in Crystal River.
